Asyad Drydock Reports Record Year in 2024, Strong Start to 2025
Oman’s Asyad Drydock has recently announced that 2024 was “an unprecedented year” for the shipyard, during which it delivered a total of 232 shiprepair and conversion projects, the highest number since operations began in 2011.
Moreover, this momentum is being continued into 2025, Ahmed bin Ali Al Bulushi, Chief Executive Officer, has indicated in an official statement. He commented: “In the first half of 2025, we achieved 15% revenue growth compared to the same period in 2024, demonstrating sustained financial strength and operational excellence. These results empower us to move forward with confidence as we execute expansion plans focused on efficiency, digital transformation, talent development and global partnerships, cementing Asyad Drydock’s role as a cornerstone in the global maritime sector.”
As part of its strategic diversification, Asyad Drydock is advancing into new markets, particularly in the oil and gas sector. This includes the delivery of specialised, high-value services for offshore platforms.
Recently released 2024 results for the Asyad Group overall were also highly positive. Asyad closed the year with a 55% increase in net profit to OMR 52.8 million (US$137.3 million). Asyad Ports was one of the star performers, achieving double-digit growth in throughput, with general cargo volumes rising by 12%, and container volumes surging by 38% compared with 2023.
