
The ninth annual The Maritime Standard Tanker Conference 2024 takes place on Thursday November 7th at the Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai. A packed programme is at an advanced stage of preparation and details of the speakers lined up to participate in this important event will be revealed shortly.
This year the over-arching theme of the TMS Tanker Conference conference is Sustainable tanker shipping:accelerating the journey to net zero, which reflects the importance of ongoing efforts to achieve environmental progress in the tanker shipping sector. Attendees will hear about the latest initiatives and investments that will enable ambitious net zero carbon emissions targets to be reached. Aimed at key decision makers and influencers within the tanker shipping business, the event takes places at a time when there has never been a greater focus on environmental challenges, making the conference one that is vitally important for stakeholders to attend.
As well as sustainability issues, the Conference will focus on current market trends in the crude, products, chemicals and gas tanker markets. While there are some very positive indicators, there are challenges as well, and the future is considered uncertain in many sectors and trade lanes. Other topics on the agenda across the three sessions include safety and security; classification; digitalisation; maritime law and insurance; vessel technology; ship management; and shiprepair and maintenance.
The TMS Tanker Conference will kick off with keynote speeches from industry leaders and a high quality Session 1 panel that will discuss Sustainable shipping strategies – assessing optimum solutions. Speakers with exceptionally high levels of responsibility and knowledge within tanker shipping will reflect on their particular approaches to implementing sustainable shipping regimes. They will draw on their own experiences to assess the best way to reach ambitious net zero targets while maintaining optimum levels of profitability and operational efficiency.
Session 2 in the afternoon has the theme of Driving greater operational efficiency in tanker shipping and will focus on the key issues facing tanker shipowners and operators in terms of day-to-day operations. Speakers will reflect ob the solutions available to meet challenges and how to embrace technology advances in areas such as digitalisation and AI to best effect.
Last but not least Session 3 will assess Creating robust support systems infrastructure. This session will hear from a range of speakers from various sectors who will demonstrate how those supplying and supporting tanker shipping are diversifying and strengthening their offerings to meet the evolving requirements of tanker owners and operators. This will include initiatives targeted at helping tanker owners and operators meet the primary strategic objectives.
