The clock is ticking down to this year’s TMS Awards, which take place at the Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai on October 15th. Nominations are now open and the final deadline for submission is August 10th.
To assist potential nominees, TMS has issued guidance with some suggested proactive steps that can be taken to ensure a better chance of success. As Clive Woodbridge, TMS Editor and Chairman of the Judging Panel, points out, “Preparing an effective nomination is the key to presenting the accomplishments of your company to the judges in the best light, and this takes time and effort. My advice is to begin your research as soon you can to get all the information you need to complete the entry forms so you are not rushed at the last minute.”
Details of the TMS Awards categories are available online and contain all the relevant criteria. Clive says, “Make sure you select the most appropriate categories for you. We have included as much guidance as we can to help you do this.”
Entrants can submit entry forms online, and the judges rely on having concise, but complete nominations. “Well written nominations allow the judges to use their time effectively,” adds Clive. “Each section of the entry form describes what the judges need to know, so take the time to write a well-documented argument. Follow the format as it helps you communicate effectively and allows the judges to evaluate the entry properly.”
The final piece of advice is to only submit the nomination when you are fully ready and have all the information you need to complete the forms. But, TMS stresses, please make sure you note the deadline as submissions after that date cannot be accepted.
