The Organization of The Islamic Shipowners’ Association (OISA) held its 41st Executive Committee meeting and its 33rd General Assembly session on November 28th, 2019, at the Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel.
After the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, the first session began with Dr. Abdulatif Sultan, Secretary General of OISA, giving the keynote speech, followed by a presentation by Khamis Juma Buamin, Chairman Dubai Council of Marine and Marine Industries, which focused on the latest shipping industry achievements in the region. Afterwards Ahmed El Damerdash, Technical Manager at AMPTC, gave a presentation on global warming and the regional issues regarding the oil industry, while ASRY’s Wayel Ali also spoke during the first session of the assembly.
In the second session the members of the association gathered as General Assembly to take a closer look at everything the organization has done during the past year, as well as talk over the future plans and visions set for OISA.
The Organization of Islamic Shipowners Association was set up to serve Islamic countries active in the maritime transportation field in 1981. Its main aim is to enhance trade and mutual cooperation among Islamic countries in the maritime transport sector.
