QTerminals Partners with GAC Qatar to Provide Vessel Hold Cleaning at Hamad Port
Qatar’s QTerminals, the operator of container terminal facilities in Hamad Port, has entered into a new partnership with GAC Qatar to provide professional vessel hold cleaning services at the port. Under the terms of the agreement, GAC will oversee the cleaning of vessel holds after discharge, ensuring they are fully ready, compliant and safe for the next cargo shipment.
This new service is set to enhance QTerminals’ portfolio of value-added solutions for shipowners at Hamad Port. Vessel operators are expected to benefit from improved readiness after discharge, faster turnaround times and greater operational efficiency, strengthening Hamad Port’s role as a key maritime gateway in the region.
The agreement further consolidates the local presence of GAC Qatar, which also has a strong foothold in the container transportation sector. Each month, more than 15,000 TEU are handled at the Jery Musabbeh Container Management Station, which is managed and operated by GAC in Qatar.
The 90,000m² capacity depot offers a comprehensive range of services, including container inspections, temporary storage, repair and cleaning for export preparation, as well as on and off hires. A company spokesperson said: “With volumes set to increase as the nation’s energy sector continues to grow, we’re powering the nation’s trade, by doing our part in managing an efficient flow of containers in and out of the depot.”
