DP World Jeddah has introduced the new CARGOES TOS+ module into its terminal operations and planning system (OPS). The company says it has already seen significant improvements in its operational key performance indicators (KPIs) within the first ten days of the using the system and anticipates further enhancements over the coming weeks and months.
The CARGOES TOS+ OPS is expected pave the way for increased automation at DP World Jeddah as it provides an “advanced and robust” integration environment for the terminal’s equipment automation program as well as other digital upgrade projects that are in the pipeline. The launch also included introducing the N4 interface – the bridge between the system and users – making it the first terminal in DP World to deploy the TOS+ OPS with the N4 backend.
According to DP World, over time this initiative will increase port efficiency for cargo owners moving their goods through DP World Jeddah, with containers moving faster from vessel to gate and beyond to retailers and consumers.
The OPS module is described as being a “powerful, flexible planning platform for terminal operations, combining a feature-rich frontend and backend, offering customers the best management and planning experience to optimise terminal assets.” It includes a suite of features that lets planning staff define their own productivity goals and rules.
