Fairdeal Marine Services has operated a MARPOL reception facility in Fujairah, UAE, for many years, and has also catered to the needs of a number of principals, both offshore and onshore, by providing Oil Spill Response (OSR) capabilities. In recognition of the quality of the services it provides, the company has been officially recognised by the regional Marine Emergency Mutual Aid Centre (MEMAC) headquartered in Bahrain as the first facility that is fully accredited to attend to, and deal with, hazardous and noxious substances (HNS) both onshore and offshore UAE.
Fairdeal, whose facilities are fully compliant with the IMO guidelines for handling IMO Annexe II cargoes, was warmly praised by MEMAC in granting the accreditation. The Centre recognised that the company has demonstrated a high standard of in-house resource experience and capabilities to operate in accordance with MARPOL 73/78. MEMAC also pointed out that the company’s Fujairah facility is well equipped to undertake HNS related activities and has the capability and capacity to handle standby contracts for terminals as well as training and consultancy for HNS cargo handling.
Fairdeal has enjoyed a long association with regional port authorities, cargo handling and storage terminals and offshore operators, dealing with anti-pollution and environmental protection matters. The company provides services to most ports in the UAE and offshore locations within the region. Fairdeal’s response infrastructure includes trained personnel together with a comprehensive equipment inventory and a range of offshore support vessels.
