
Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA), the government authority charged with regulating, coordinating and supervising all aspects of Dubai’s maritime sector, showcased the emirate as a maritime hub and an attractive destination for maritime companies to a global audience during the high-profile London International Shipping Week (LISW) which took place from September 7 to 11, 2015.
Amer Ali, executive director of Dubai Maritime City Authority, said: “The participation in LISW was an ideal opportunity for the DMCA to underline Dubai’s pioneering experience in the transition to a leading global maritime hub as well as to highlight the results of an international survey conducted by global organisation, Menon Business Economics Group. The survey has projected that Dubai will make it to the world’s top 7 leading maritime centres in the next five years, firmly reflecting our commitment to reinforce the sector’s status among the world’s leading marine clusters.”
DMCA presented a detailed insight about the strengths of Dubai’s maritime sector which has steadily positioned itself to be among the world’s top maritime centres. The Dubai Maritime Sector Strategy (DMSS), which was established to regulate, develop and promote the maritime industry while observing the highest standards of excellence, creativity, innovation, was also discussed at the event.
