
Cochin Shipyard Signs Offshore Partnership with Seatrium
Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), India’s largest shipbuilder and ship repairer, has entered into a strategic partnership with Singapore-based Seatrium Offshore Technology (SOT) following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The collaboration is designed to strengthen offshore sector cooperation across India and Asia.
The agreement will see SOT and CSL leverage their respective expertise to drive new business opportunities. SOT brings advanced engineering capabilities, specialised offshore equipment and innovative solutions, while CSL contributes extensive infrastructure, state-of-the-art fabrication facilities and proven ship repair expertise. Together, the two companies aim to target maintenance, repair and overhaul projects for clients operating in Asia, while also exploring expansion into other offshore markets across the region.
Winston Cheng, Senior Vice-President and Head of SOT, said: “This MoU is a strategic milestone in Seatrium’s efforts to expand our global footprint across Asia, with India identified as a key market for long-term growth. India’s rapidly developing offshore energy sector and rising demand for maritime infrastructure present compelling opportunities for collaboration and innovation.”
