Adani Logistics Limited (ALL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Ports, has entered into an agreement to acquire Innovative B2B Logistics Solutions (InLogistics) from the private equity firm, True North. Adani says the takeover will enable it to diversify its operations and add more value in the dry cargo sector.
Founded in 2006, InLogistics provides integrated logistics services for domestic cargo movements in India, with a network spanning West, North and East India. It also has a strong customer base, which includes Tata Steel, Tata Sponge Iron, JSW Cement and retail marble traders.
According to Karan Adani, Adani Ports’ Chief Executive Officer, “With this acquisition, ALL will become the largest private rail and logistics park operator in India. We see significant synergies in the business and InLogistics fits well into our strategy and vision, which is to be the market leader in providing integrated logistics services in India with a focus on developing hinterland logistics.”
At present ALL operates six facilities including three Logistics Parks, two EXIM yards and a Container Yard and has the capacity to handle 0.5 million teu of containers a year.
