
Drydocks World Launches 5000-Tonne Alnokhada Floating Crane
Drydocks World has launched its new 5000 tonnes capacity floating crane, Alnokhada. The crane, constructed by ZPMC Offshore, is now afloat, moving the project into the outfitting phase, where systems installation, testing and final commissioning will take place. Delivery of the fully completed barge crane in Dubai is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.
Alnokhada measures 138.5 m in length, with a 52 m beam and 5.8 m draft. Its lifting system includes a 5000 tonnes main hook, a 600 tonnes auxiliary hook and an outreach of 180 m. Once operational, the crane will join Drydocks World’s heavy-lift fleet, providing additional capacity for increasingly complex offshore, industrial and energy projects across the region.

Drydocks World has also started construction of a new head office complex in Dubai. Scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027, the facility will unite nearly 700 employees under one roof, improving communication, coordination and operational efficiency. Positioned just outside the fabrication zones but still close to the yard, the location enhances accessibility for visitors and clients, enabling meetings without navigating restricted industrial areas. Direct access from Jumeirah Beach Road will reduce congestion, support strict security standards and provide a more connected and welcoming environment.
Designed to meet LEED Gold certification, the new head office will integrate smart technologies, energy-efficient air and ventilation systems and next-generation safety infrastructure. Advanced access control, surveillance and fire protection systems will also be incorporated.
