Marine survival technology supplier, Survitec, is to significantly expand its Fujairah service station, underscoring an ongoing commitment to scaling up its operations across the Middle East.
The move, which adds 1,350 m2 of new capacity, transforms the UAE-based facility into a full-service station. It will enable the integration of liferaft servicing for RaftXChange, a liferaft rental and exchange solution, alongside its established lifeboat inspection and marine fire safety service operations. The expanded site is also designed to deliver faster turnaround times for shipowners and operator.
Beibei Qiu, Executive Managing Director for APAC & MEA at Survitec, said, “By broadening the scope of our Fujairah operations, we are responding directly to the growing demand in the Middle East, ensuring we can deliver timely, flexible solutions tailored to the evolving needs of our customers such as RaftXChange, which enhances operational efficiency, reduces vessel downtime, and provides greater flexibility in managing liferaft compliance.”
Strategically located near the Strait of Hormuz, the Fujairah facility positions Survitec to better serve shipping routes across the Gulf of Oman and the wider region. The expansion enables the company to expand its servicing capabilities under one roof, offering customers a more cost-effective, and compliant approach to maintaining their onboard critical safety and survival solutions.
“Increasing capacity is just one part of the story,” Qiu added. “Ultimately, this is about giving our customers peace of mind and the confidence that their safety equipment is in expert hands, wherever their vessels operate.”
The Fujairah expansion also represents an investment in talent and expertise. Survitec has recruited and certified additional skilled technicians to deliver servicing and inspection across liferafts, lifeboats, and marine fire safety systems. The facility has secured full regulatory approval from the UAE Civil Defence and the Ministry of Interior, affirming its readiness to meet the highest safety and compliance standards.
