Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre continues to broker important conversations with maritime industry stakeholders through its breakfast seminar programme. At the most recent of these, Kirsty Cattanach, Senior Associate of Baker McKenzie Habib Al Mulla, provided updates on the draft of the UAE Maritime Law, including new definitions and key concepts around marine investments, registration processes and insurance regulations among others.
“We are very pleased to pick up the conversation around the new draft UAE Maritime Law, which we believe will be of utmost significance to the maritime industry,” said Majid Obaid bin Bashir, Acting Chairman and Secretary General, EMAC. “It is without a doubt a milestone step in reiterating the country’s objective to create a reliable and amicable seat for arbitration.”
The next Breakfast with EMAC seminar will take place on 18th March at its DIFC offices. On this occasion participants will discuss cargo contamination cases.
