The Tristar Group has opened two new facilities aimed at enhancing its integrated logistics services to the downstream petroleum industry in the GCC region. The new truck staging and workshop facility at ICAD 2 (Industrial City in Abu Dhabi 2) has 50,000 m2 of space for logistics services for transport, warehousing, storage and distribution services. The Oman facility is located in the Rusayl Industrial Estate Phase 2. It has a total plot size of 15,000m2 with a 2-storey office building and a 5-bay workshop with two inspection pits and a washdown bay. It can store products both outside and inside the warehouse.
As well as logistics, Tristar is expanding its Eships shipping business. The company has recently increased its fleet to 24 vessels when it purchased its first dry bulk vessel since 2013, re-entering a market that Eships had previously left under its former shareholder. Eships is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tristar and has grown in less than three years from having assets of US $20 million to over US $320 million, and contributed around 33% of the group’s EBITDA in 2017.
