The owners of UAE-based Tomini Group and Alpina Chartering of Denmark are undertaking a significant change in their long-standing partnership as shareholders and operators of Tomini Shipping, which controls a fleet of 23 bulk carriers, ranging from Handysize to Newcastlemax types. After many years of successful collaboration, the partners have decided to consolidate commercial management operations at Tomini Group’s headquarters in Dubai. This strategic transition marks a shift from the current arrangement with Alpina Chartering undertaking commercial management from its offices in Denmark.
Since the inception of their partnership, Tomini has handled ownership, finance and technical operations, while Alpina has managed the commercial aspects. This collaboration has been successful in driving growth for both companies.
The transition process will take place over the coming year to ensure a seamless shift to a new management structure. Under the new arrangement, Tomini Group will eventually assume full responsibility for all commercial
management activities, including chartering, freight operations, and client relationships. This transition, agreed upon by the Shaikh and Kampmann families, which control Tomini and Alpina respectively, aims to enhance operational efficiency and more effectively deliver their shared vision for the future.
Numair Shaikh, CEO of Tomini Group, said: “This marks a significant milestone for Tomini Group as we start the transition of bringing the commercial management operations of our fleet fully in-house. The strategic decision is a testament to our commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and aligns with our long-term goals of growth and optimization. We extend our deepest gratitude to Alpina Chartering Aps for their support over the years.”
