Safeen Feeders, part of the AD Ports group, has joined the Stena Sonangol Suezmax Pool, a joint venture between Stena Bulk, and the Angolan state-owned oil company, Sonangol. One of Safeen’s vessels, Safeen Elizabeth, a 2011-built 158,000 dwt Suezmax tanker, was recently deployed in the pool, which currently consists of about 20 Suezmax tankers.
According to a statement from Safeen Feeders, “We believe that entering Safeen Elizabeth into the pool will help to strengthen our global network and connectivity, as well as help us to unlock new opportunities and reinforce our commitment to providing efficient and reliable maritime solutions.”
Operating from three offices, Houston, Gothenburg and Singapore, Stena Sonangol Suezmax Pool spans key time zones, enabling close collaboration with customers in each region. The use of digital technology is instrumental in advancing efficiency and reducing the environmental footprint of ship operations within the pool, it is claimed.
With the help of the Orbit MI platform, the pool monitors, optimises, and plans day-to-day operations, as well as long-term strategic positioning, aiding the enhancement of fleet utilisation and performance. This collaborative data-sharing platform not only supports transparency with charterers but also underscores a commitment to innovation and sustainability.
