Safeen Feeders, part of the AD Ports Group, is strengthening its fleet with an additional containership that will boost coastal services in the Arabian Gulf. The 996 TEU capacity, 139m long Safeen Pearl, formerly Vega Virgo, will be deployed to provide connections to UAE ports including Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Fujairah, via its hub at Khalifa Port.
Additionally, the service complements Safeen Feeder’s UAE-Indian Sub-Continent Gulf Service that benefits exporters operating from India’s West Coast and Pakistan by enabling them to connect to UAE coastal ports. It also provides a hub and spoke network option for major shipping lines calling at Khalifa Port.
Launched in 2020, Safeen Feeders was created to deliver feeder services linking Abu Dhabi to other key ports across the UAE, the wider Gulf region, and the Indian subcontinent. It currently operates its services through a joint commercial agreement with Bengal Tiger Line (BTL), covering nine ports across the region. Safeen plans to expand its network coverage to Africa, other ports in the Middle East and Asia over the coming year.
