European bulk logistics provider, RB Logistics (RB), has appointed GAC Abu Dhabi to provide a complete logistics service package for international trade between Europe and the UAE. The two-year contract covers freight services, transportation, warehousing and handling of talcum powder from Italy to Ruwais for a client of IMI FABI.
GAC will arrange for the collection of talc from IMI FABI’s mine in Italy and send it by sea to Abu Dhabi, where it will handle the customs clearance before transporting to GAC’s Mina Zayed warehouse. There, the talc will be loaded into RB’s 40ft silo containers, using a specialised transloading machine, for the road trip to the production plant in Ruwais. After unloading, empty containers will return to the warehouse.
It is anticipated that the GAC team in Abu Dhabi will carry out at least 12 load out operations a month. Company staff have been trained in the operation and maintenance of the transloading machine, and the GAC Warehouse Management System has been incorporated into the IMI FABI supply chain to ensure transparency, accurate stock records and inventory control.
