RAK Ports, a key maritime gateway for import and export traffic through the Northern Emirates of the UAE, has signed a memorandum of understanding with China’s Guangzhou Port establishing formal links between the two organisations.
RAK Ports and Guangzhou Port are both multi-purpose ports and share many operational similarities. Moving forward, RAK Ports and Guangzhou Port say they plan to discuss future business collaboration with the aim of increasing trade links between Ras Al Khaimah and China.
Roger Clasquin, Chief Commercial Officer, RAK Ports, commented, “We are extremely pleased to enter into this strategic partnership with Guangzhou Port and view this collaboration as the start of a long term relationship between Ras Al Khaimah and Guangzhou. We have already started discussions on various business proposals, and we look forward to moving these forward whilst leveraging Guangzhou Port’s existing network of contacts.”
