Dubai’s Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) recently hosted an event to celebrate the official opening of the Dubai Logistics Academy. The ceremony was attended by Sultan bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman and CEO and Chairman of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, who pointed out that the logistics sector is a crucial driver of local economic growth and that the Dubai Logistics Academy will play a key role in training professionals in the ports, logistics, and related service sectors.
The academy aims to serve as a means of stimulating a knowledge-based national economy and to play a key role in supporting Emiratisation by training, qualifying and investing in local talent.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, described the launch of the Dubai Logistics Academy as a “significant step in enhancing the professional and intellectual capabilities of the logistics sector” that will also help reinforce Dubai’s reputation as a leading global trade hub.
The Academy will offer a wide range of professional programmes and scholarships covering logistics services, supply chains, and trade. Its goal is to prepare an elite pool of talent specifically for these sectors and will also facilitate employment opportunities through strategic partnerships with private sector logistics companies.
