To enhance network coverage within the region, the container shipping line OOCL is launching a new service, East Africa Express 5 (EAX5). Complementing OOCL’s existing loops, EAX1, 3 and 4, this new service will offer direct connections between the Middle East, Subcontinent and East Africa, with what are claimed to be highly competitive transit times. The port rotation for the EAX5 service will be Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi, Mombasa, Dar Es Salaam and Nhava Sheva.
OOCL says that the service will offer a westbound transit time of 9 days between Abu Dhabi and Mombasa and 8 days between Dar Es Salaam and Nhava Sheva eastbound. The first sailing will take place from Nhava Sheva on November 22nd.
