The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the launch of two new container shipping services, further enhancing Saudi Arabia’s maritime connectivity with key markets in Asia, the Middle East, and the Indian Subcontinent.
At King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, global container shipping giant Evergreen has introduced its ARPG shipping service, establishing a strategic link between Saudi Arabia and several major Asian ports. The new route connects Dammam with Port Klang (Malaysia), Laem Chabang (Thailand), Vung Tau (Vietnam), Kaohsiung (Taiwan), as well as key Chinese ports including Yantian, Ningbo, and Shanghai. It also connects to Umm Qasr in Iraq and Jebel Ali in the UAE, enhancing regional and international trade routes.
On the Red Sea coast, Jeddah Islamic Port has welcomed a new container service operated by Dubai-based regional shipping line Sealead. The Red Sea–India (RESIN) service links Jeddah with Nhava Sheva (India), Sokhna (Egypt), Djibouti, and Jebel Ali (UAE), creating new opportunities for trade and transshipment across South Asia, East Africa, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
These additions align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub. The new services are expected to increase cargo throughput, reduce transit times, and enhance the competitiveness of Saudi ports on the global stage.
With growing demand for efficient maritime transport and port infrastructure, the addition of these routes supports both regional supply chain resilience and international trade growth.
