APM Terminals Mumbai has become the first Indian container terminal to handle more than 2 million teu in a calendar year. “I am very proud of all our employees, contractors and frontline workforce who have all worked as a team to achieve this record performance. I am especially happy that this record has been achieved by ensuring safe operations at all times,” commented Ravi Gaitonde, chief operating officer.
As a result of growing containerised import-export trade volumes, APM Terminals Mumbai expects to maintain its growth momentum over the next few years. The terminal points out that it has embraced digitisation to keep up with rapidly-changing trade dynamics and increased efficiency in support of the Government of India’s Ease-of-Doing-Business initiative.
