Mawani Steps Up Investments in Port Logistics Centres
The Saudi Ports Authority Mawani has signed a contract with Q Saudi to develop and operate an integrated logistics centre at Yanbu Commercial Port. Valued at more than SAR 29 million and spanning 120,490 m2, the project is designed to strengthen logistics efficiency and expand cargo-handling capabilities on the Kingdom’s western coast.
The new logistics centre will provide facilities for cargo storage and redistribution, supporting operations at the nearby Yanbu Commercial Port, which features 12 berths with a total capacity exceeding 13.5 million tons.
Mawani has also recently signed a contract with Arabian Agricultural Services Company (ARASCO) to establish a logistics centre for storage and distribution at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. This SAR 200 million project covers 40,000 m2 and represents a major investment in enhancing the port’s agricultural logistics capacity.
The development will boost King Abdulaziz Port’s grain discharge and storage capabilities through the construction of warehouses with a capacity of up to 100,000 tonnes. The project also includes an integrated vehicle loading facility, the installation of conveyor belts and new ship unloading equipment to connect berths 37 and 39, further improving operational performance at the port.
