Rolls-Royce has acquired Servowatch Systems, a UK-based supplier of integrated marine automation solutions for navies, commercial vessels and large yachts from India’s Larsen & Toubro group. Servowatch will significantly expand the ship automation division of the MTU brand of Rolls-Royce’s Power Systems business.
Servowatch employs approximately 35 people at its headquarters in the UK, with an additional 11 people in India. Its automation systems monitor and control the operation of various large ship types, covering the propulsion system, as well as other functions such as heating and ventilation and power supply. The commercial details of the agreement have not been released.
