Over the course of June this year JN Port in India handled a total throughput of 7.01 million tonnes, which is 15.96% higher than the 6.04 million tonnes recorded in June 2021. This month’s traffic includes 6.32 million tonnes of container traffic compared with 5.52 million tonnes in June last year, and 0.68 million tonnes of bulk cargo up from 0.52 million tonnes the corresponding month of 2021.
In terms of container traffic, 493,336 TEU were handled at JNP Port in June, 11.63% higher than in the same month of the year before. The fastest growing container terminal was PSA International’s Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal (BMCT) facility which handled 119,065 TEU, up 58.88%. The busiest was the APM Terminals Gateway Terminals India terminal, which recorded a throughput of 159,654 TEU, an increase of 9.5%.
The port authority has announced that in the 2021-2 financial year, ending March 2021, JN Port handled a total of 5,68 million TEU. This was 21.55% higher than the 4.68 million TEU recorded in the financial year 2020-21.
