Iran’s IRISL container shipping company has introduced a new service connecting ports in South Korea and China with the Middle East Gulf. Two 5,100 teu vessels, and four 6500 teu ships, are being deployed on the HDM Loop, maintaining a fortnightly frequency.
IRISL’s South Korea agent is Compass Maritime. Its chief executive GH Zahmatkesh said the new route would “make a contribution to South Korea’s increasing trade with the Middle East and central Asia, as well as Iran.” The service will run from Iran, calling at the ports of Bandar Abbas and Asaluyeh, serving Qingdao, Tianjin and Dalian in China and the South Korean ports of Incheon, Gwangyang and Busan. The service will then return to Bandar Abbas via Shanghai in China and Jebel Ali in Dubai.
