Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) has received authorisation as a Recognised Organisation (RO) from The Netherlands’ flag administration. The authorisation comes just months after IRClass received authorisation from Europe’s largest flag, Malta, in December last year, as well as authorisations from other European administrations, including Latvia and Bulgaria, over the past year or so.
P K Mishra, vice president and regional manager, Europe and Americas, said: “This recognition is indicative of the growing presence of IRClass within Europe. We are moving towards becoming a globally-recognised classification society, and this reflects our commitment to provide prompt and value-added services to European shipowners.”
With The Netherlands now added to the list of flags which have authorised IRClass, the organisation is confident of securing authorisation from other European flags in the near future. In particular the classification society aims to expand its business in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden and United Kingdom over the coming months.
