UAE-headquartered Tristar and the Stevens Group based in the Netherlands have launched Tristar Hazmat FZCO, which is based in the Jebel Ali Free Zone. The new joint venture will provide logistics and supply chain management services relating to hazardous goods throughout the Middle East.
The partnership combines the broad geographic footprint and established network of logistics and supply chain management services operated by Tristar across the Middle East with the niche products and services provided by Stevens to the industry worldwide.
The Tristar Group’s core expertise lies in handling hydrocarbons, lubricants, chemicals and liquid gases while the Stevens Group has developed into one of the world’s leading specialist logistics and supply chain management networks for hazardous cargoes. Its client portfolio covers a number of industry sectors, both domestically and internationally.
According to Eugene Mayne, Tristar’s chief executive: “This is a step in the right direction for our group as we seek to establish a leadership position in the storage and handling of dangerous goods and hazardous materials in the GCC region. The joint venture with the Stevens Group will complement our existing dangerous goods business and infrastructure to ensure that we import and implement international best practices for safe storage, handling and distribution of all classes of hazardous materials.”
