Sharjah-based terminal operator Gulftainer has announced that it will migrate its core ERP systems to the cloud, to enhance regional and global operations, as part of a wider digital transformation strategy. The company says it is “future-proofing operations with SAP solutions, leveraging automation and AI capabilities, and embedding sustainability processes.”
Gulftainer will adopt the RISE with SAP system, along with its S/4HANA ERP software, with the aim of having access to new technology solutions, reducing operating costs and benefitting from managed services that include continuous updates and maintenance. Additionally, the adoption of RISE with SAP is expected to enable Gulftainer to use advanced analytics, machine learning and robotic process automation (RPA) technologies, improving operations and leading to more insightful decision-making, while helping the company meet its environmental commitments.
“The adoption of RISE with SAP will ensure unparalleled operational efficiency, from streamlined updates to more robust security features, and the solution will empower Gulftainer with advanced technological data to enhance our business operations, license optimisation and customer services,” said Vinay Sharma, Director of IT at Gulftainer. “RISE with SAP will open the door to building business-specific solutions and data analytics capabilities that enable agile, effective responses to changes in global supply chains and market conditions.”
