The Port of Fujairah has announced the completion of its new refuelling and shipping facility, which has been built at a total cost of AED350 million ($95.2 million).
It is claimed to be the first specialist port in the Middle East to fully adopt environment-friendly standards. The new facility aims to provide a wide range of services to all ships operating along Fujairah’s coast. HH Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, carried out an inspection tour of the port and was briefed by engineers and technicians about its operation.
Sheikh Hamad was accompanied by Sheikh Saleh bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Department of Industry and Economy and Chairman of the Port of Fujairah, Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Emiri Court of Fujairah, and Captain Moussa Mourad, Director of the Port of Fujairah, along with several local officials.
