A new freight tech start up in India, FreightBro, is integrating Maersk Spot within its digital platform for freight forwarders. In what is claimed to be a first-of-a-kind initiative across India, the FreightBro platform will use Maersk Spot to allow customers to book and secure container space online and in real-time.
According to the company, following the integration of the Maersk Spot system, freight forwarders will be able to access real-time rates on the platform. The system will also guarantee equipment availability and cargo loading on Maersk and Safmarine services, irrespective of the time of year, at a fixed price.
FreightBro says it aims to provide a very simple airline-like booking experience to the Indian forwarding industry. The company has so far enabled over 500 freight forwarders to sell online using its proprietary digital platform. Maersk Spot was launched by Maersk last year to curb the cycle of over booking and simplify the booking process for customers while guaranteeing cargo loading.
