Abu Dhabi Ports (ADP) is launching a new venture called Safeen Feeders in partnership with Bengal Tiger Line (BTL). Supporting ADP’s mainline shipping clients, Safeen Feeders will run a network of feeder services linking Abu Dhabi to ports across UAE, the broader Gulf region and Sub Continent.
Initially it will operate a pendulum service in partnership with BTL, with ports of call including Khalifa Port, Jebel Ali, Jubail, Dammam, Bahrain as an Upper Gulf loop, and Nhava Sheva, Kandla, Mundra and Karachi within a Subcontinent loop. Services will be maintained by a fleet of three 2700 teu capacity container vessels and will commence later this month, with the first departure from Mundra expected to take place on June 30th.
In the medium term, ADP and BTL expect to further expand the service to ports within the Gulf, and eventually to serve container terminals in the Red Sea and East Africa regions.
