The Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC) last week met with the Emirates Association of Lawyers and Legal Counsel, as part of the Centre’s continued efforts in widening awareness about its activities and services.
Hosted by Majid Obaid bin Bashir, Acting Chairman and Secretary General at EMAC, the purpose of the meeting was to further encourage the UAE’s legal community to benefit from the Centre, to provide details and information about the services available, as well as to generally promote the benefits of maritime arbitration and mediation.
“At EMAC we believe that one of our objectives is to connect with the legal community and spread the word about who we are and what we do,” says Mr. bin Bashir. “We would like to further enhance the importance of mediation and arbitration, therefore the collaboration with the Emirates Association of Lawyers and Legal Counsel will provide us with a valuable platform in order to do so.”
At the start of 2018, EMAC announced its plans to connect with the UAE’s leading maritime and legal organisations with the aim of describing to them how its services and offerings benefit the industry. The EMAC team is now ready to actively support specialised dispute resolution.
