Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC) has held the final breakfast briefing session of the year, on effective maritime dispute management, featuring a presentation from its Senior Associate, Raymond Kisswany from Charles Russell Speechlys.
The well-attended event discussed effective methods for maritime dispute management. The presentation took a closer look at the importance of jurisdiction and what effective dispute management entails, specifically with regards to maritime agreements, which are often complex.
“Closing our 2018 breakfast seminars with this topic is again another message to the industry that EMAC is here to serve the maritime industry with services that facilitate alternative dispute resolution. Our commitment to providing a platform where parties can openly discuss concerns is now recognised and we believe that trust is building as seen through the receipt and management of our first case,” said Majid Obaid bin Bashir, Acting Chairman and Secretary General, EMAC.
EMAC plans further engagement with the shipping and maritime sector over the coming year. Details of further seminars are scheduled to be announced early in 2019.
