Dubai-based shipyard Drydocks World recently completed the Rashid D Wellhead Platform jacket and topside for TechnipFMC and its end client Dubai Petroleum.
The yard has now delivered the oil and gas processing topside module, which weighs 950 tons, and has been designed for unmanned offshore operation with a lifespan of 25 years. The unit contains advanced piping and control systems, which were fabricated, integrated and pre-commissioned in their entirety by Drydocks World.
The 500 tons jacket structure is designed to support the topside offshore in Dubai at a sea depth of 31m. The scope of work also included pile fabrication; oil, water injection and gas riser fabrication; and subsea spools for connecting the platform to Dubai Petroleum’s existing offshore subsea network. This unmanned platform has the ability to handle oil, gas lift and water injection operations.
“We are pleased to be working with TechnipFMC, as Rashid D marks the fourth project we have built together for Dubai Petroleum,” said Capt. Rado Antolovic, chief executive and managing director of DP World’s Maritime Services Division. “We are devoted to delivering all our projects to the highest quality and safety standards, and during this project the yard has achieved over 700,000 lost time incident (LTI) free hours, which is a testament to the strong safety culture adopted throughout our organisation.”
The Rashid D project was carried out on a fast track basis through the joint efforts of Dubai Petroleum, Drydocks World Dubai and TechnipFMC. Close collaboration allowed the partners to deliver this project in less than 10 months after the initial contract award.
