The CMA CGM Group is reinforcing its presence on key markets in the Middle East and India through improved port coverage and vessel deployment on its EPIC, EPIC2, MEDEX and MEGEM services.
From January 2021 its weekly EPIC services will offer what are claimed to be the fastest connections from the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent to Northern Europe, while the MEDEX and MEGEM services will include a westbound call in Tripoli, Lebanon.
EPIC will now operate with eight vessels, five of which will be provided by CMA CGM, and will connect Nhava Sheva and Southampton in 20 days, and Rotterdam to Jebel Ali in 23 days. EPIC 2 will offer a 28 day transit from Nhava Sheva and London, and 31 days from Hamburg to Mundra on the eastbound return leg.
Tripoli will be a new Lebanese hub for the French carrier, offering an alternative to the port of Beirut which was badly damaged in an explosion. This will offer transshipment connections to Black Sea, East Mediterranean and North African trades.
