The French carrier, CMA CGM, is revising its Asia-Middle East services from the end of July 2018. The Ocean Alliance Day Two product will offer four loops between Far East and Middle East ports, with competitive transit times.
CMA CGM’s CIMEX 1 and CIMEX 3 services will be merged into one loop, covering most of the ports previously offered. The new CIMEX 1 service will connect Tianjin, Shanghai, Shekou and Qingdao in China, Busan in South Korea, and Singapore, with ports in the Middle East, including Sohar, Jebel Ali, Hamad, Dammam, and Jubail.
CMA CGM says that the revised service will allow the carrier to optimise its Asia-Middle East network, and enhance the reliability of services to its customers.
In a separate development it is reported that CMA CGM is pulling out of the Iranian market. The risk of US sanctions if it continued is cited as the reason for the decision.
