Leading shipbroker Clarksons is expanding its services in the Middle East with the establishment of a dedicated Sale & Purchase (S&P) desk within its Dubai office. According to the company, this strategic move highlights the region’s continued importance to its global business and the addition of a S&P desk will enable the existing UAE-based team to build on long-standing relationships and further increase market share.
Leading the Dubai S&P desk is Tim Barraclough, who celebrates 25 years with Clarksons this year. During a distinguished career, Tim has worked with a diverse range of clients, including Greek family-owned businesses, public companies, state-owned entities and clients across the Middle East and consequently Clarksons believes this breadth of experience “uniquely” positions him to spearhead the next chapter of growth for its team in Dubai.
Commenting on the expansion, Julian Brynteson, Global Head of Sale & Purchase, said: “We are delighted to extend our global footprint with the addition of Dubai as a key location where we can support our clients locally. With 90 S&P brokers worldwide, the Dubai office now marks the team’s 11th global location. Under Tim’s leadership, we are confident this expansion will enhance our service offerings in the region, reaffirming our commitment to the UAE and its surrounding markets as they continue to grow as vital shipping hubs.”
