
DP World, UAE Region has completed the implementation of the Zodiac terminal operating system at Jebel Ali Port’s Container Terminal 3 (CT3). The fully automated system includes advanced solutions for the remote control of equipment and enables CT3 to integrate with any terminal that uses the same automation system, enhancing its ability to ensure smooth operations even during crises.

The advanced digital Zodiac system at CT3 is said to represent ‘a quantum leap’ from its predecessor in enabling 100% automation making it “one of the most sophisticated and intelligent port terminals in the region.”
Zodiac consists of 18 integrated systems, including crane automation and berth planning. It also manages the rail and inland container depot (ICD), provides fleet management services and controls the container freight station. Additionally, the system provides real-time container location tracking, clearance, and delivery, billing systems, support for onsite PDA devices and an automatic control system for the terminal gates.
