The multipurpose and project heavy lift carrier, AAL Shipping, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, has announced the launch of a new liner service that will offer scheduled monthly sailings connecting ports in Europe, the Middle East, India and Asia. The service will be operated by AAL’s second generation 31,000 dwt A-Class ships, which combine a 40,000 m3 cargo capacity and 700 tonnes lift capability.
The new liner service will follow a fixed route, but with considerable port call flexibility. Core ports within the service schedule are to include Antwerp, Porto Marghera, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Mumbai, Singapore, Shanghai, Tianjin and Masan, the company states.
AAL views the Europe – Middle East / India – Asia Monthly Liner Service as a natural extension of its existing portfolio of tramp and scheduled liner services between Asia and Oceania. The company says it will soon be issuing the first schedule for this service and is already taking cargo bookings through its local network of offices along the route.
