Acquired by the Dubai-headquartered Supreme Group in 2014, EMS Seven Seas has unveiled a new corporate identity as part of a wider growth strategy that aims to position the company as the foremost supplier to the global maritime sector. The company will drop the EMS prefix, symbolic of the 2006 acquisition of Eitzen Marine Services, and will now operate under the name Seven Seas.
Seven Seas’ chief executive officer, Lars Rosenkrands, said: “Our new corporate identity reflects the changes we have been making to the company over the past year and is in line with what our customers are asking for. We are pursuing a strategy to deliver concierge-like services to our customers and position Seven Seas as the most innovative, agile, solutions-driven concierge in the maritime industry.”
The company’s new wave logo is not only symbolic of the maritime industry, but also displays elements of the Yin and Yang philosophy. Its new tagline, ‘Keeps you Sailing, is said to be the guiding theme for the new direction the company is moving towards, which is built on supporting customers through a suite of integrated maritime solutions, allowing them to focus on running their business.
Mr. Rosenkrands adds, “Seven Seas is committed to changing the way that buyers and suppliers do business with each other, reducing transaction costs and ensuring that the maritime supply chain operates with complete transparency. This, combined with a broader suite of products and services across an expanded global network, creates solutions that deliver value to all participants by taking the unnecessary costs out of the supply chain.”
Seven Seas has an operational base in Dubai Investments Park. It also has offices serving the Middle East in Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
As part of the restructuring and rebranding Seven Seas has separated its portfolio of products and services into five distinct business units. These are Seven Seas Ship Supply; Seven Seas Marine Spares; Stromme, Cleaning Solutions, the company’s cargo hold and vessel cleaning division; Wave Shipping, which adds port agency services to Seven Seas’ portfolio; and Cubisol, which offers maritime IT solutions.
According to Mr. Rosenkrands: “The consolidation of Seven Seas’ range of new and existing products and services into five distinct business units creates a more simplified, dedicated structure from which we can better serve our customers.” Referring to the addition of maritime IT and port agency solutions to Seven Seas business, Rosenkrands said that the introduction of these new services is “demonstrative of our commitment to providing full service capability.”
