
AD Ports Group and the Vietnam Maritime Administration (Vinamarine), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which is expected to pave the way for partnership working across various sectors, including ports, logistics, digital solutions, economic cities, free zones, maritime and shipping.
Under the terms of the agreement, both organisations will focus on key areas of cooperation, including the development and management of dry ports and inland container depots, in addition to logistics and digital solutions to enhance shipping and maritime activities. Additionally a joint working group is to be be established to oversee the implementation of the project.
Vietnam is one of the UAE’s largest trading partners in ASEAN region, while the UAE is also Vietnam’s largest Arab trading partner as of 2022, accounting for 39 per cent of its total trade with Arab countries.
In another recent deal extending its international partnership arrangements, AD Ports Group has signed an agreement with Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) – Kazakhstan Railways – to form a joint venture to enhance rail connectivity and maritime shipping services and develop operations in Kazakhstan’s ports.
Under the terms of the agreement, a joint venture, owned 51% by AD Ports Group and 49% by KTZ, will aim to establish a regional logistics hub. The new joint venture will also focus on expanding port infrastructure on the Caspian Sea.
