Seamaster Maritime is celebrating placing a contract for a 23.99m crew-supply multipurpose vessel SM-7 Sudha. According to the Dubai-based ship agent, this newbuilding will be its best performing and kitted out yet.
The BV-classed vessel, which will be built locally at Premier Marine Services in Dubai Maritime City, will be 25m long, with an increased fuel capacity of 13m3, and will be capable of carrying 42 passengers and 30 tonnes of deck cargo at a maximum speed of 20 knots fully loaded.
Special features include a modified accommodation design to achieve a raised wheelhouse and aft control station for better visibility; a folding mast to achieve a maximum air draft of 6m; strengthened bollards for handling mooring ropes to facilitate assisting with STS operations; and dedicated tanks for lube and waste oil to minimise the need to store drums on deck.
Construction will start shortly, and it is expected that the SM-7 Sudha will enter service between November 2022 and January 2023. Director Ramee Rashid says, “This vessel will add to our existing fleet giving us the capability to serve our customers better with a faster and more efficient crew boat. We can also offer this vessel to prospective charterers working on projects in the Arabian Gulf.”
In addition, after almost 12 years in the Swiss Tower JLT, Seamaster Maritime has recently moved. Its new Dubai head office is located in Block A of Al Hudaiba Awards Building, opposite to the Dubai Drydocks.
