The Maritime Standard (TMS) is preparing to stage three important events in the second half of the year, strengthening its market position as the regional market leader for shipping related awards and conferences.
The TMS Awards will take place at the prestigious Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai, on Monday 23rd October. Nominations are now open and companies and individuals have until 10th August to submit their entries.
Managing director, Trevor Pereira, says, “The response to the initial call for nominations from the industry has been fantastic and we are well ahead of last year in terms of entries. There is less than a month to go before the deadline, so please act now to avoid disappointment.” Details about the awards, the categories and how to enter can be found on www.tmsawards.com.
This year there are 30 awards in total, 22 of which will be determined by an elite judging panel that has been specially assembled by TMS. In addition there are 8 awards that will be decided directly by TMS in recognition for special achievements.
Table sales for the TMS Awards are also now open. There is currently a special ‘early bird’ offer available, which provides a savings of 10%, but this discount ends on August 10th.
The TMS team are also working hard on the second TMS Tanker Conference, which takes place on October 24th at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Dubai. A full list of speakers together with the Conference programme is now available at www.tmstankerconference.com. Trevor Pereira adds, “We are delighted to announce that Sheikh Talal Al Khaled Al-Sabah, chief executive of Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC), has agreed to be our keynote speaker. We have also lined up a panel of expert speakers from many different fields of the tanker sector, so it is sure to be a valuable day, full of knowledge gathering and networking opportunities.”
The third event within the TMS portfolio is The Ship Finance and Trade Conference. This will be held in Abu Dhabi on November 8th at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort. Interest amongst prospective speakers is gathering momentum and TMS will be able to announce a stellar line up in the next few weeks. More information about the event and how to book a space can be found at www.tms-shipfinanceandtrade.com.
Trevor Pereira concludes, “This is the third time we have held the Ship Finance & Trade event in Abu Dhabi, reflecting the emirate’s growing status as a regional hub for shipping, financial activity and trade. We are always on the lookout for fresh ideas for speakers and topics, so feel free to contact us if you have any suggestions.”
