A good attendance for the first of a new series of EMAC breakfast briefings

EMAC kicked off its first breakfast briefing after the summer period with a presentation on marine casualties from an insurance perspective. Two speakers, Bengi Yuceer, Regional Head of Marine Claims and Vivek Sharan, Regional Marine Client Director, both from Howden Insurance Brokers, focused their talk on recent casualties and events in shipping, the status of the insurance market and the future outlook, as well as casualty management in insurance claims.

“Marine Insurance is one of the oldest forms of insurance. Insurance brokers are faced with a multitude of shipping claims on a daily basis; hence a talk of this nature is key to understanding operational risks and how to manage issues when they do arise, be it through insurance or dispute resolution. At EMAC it is our responsibility to provide a platform for informative industry discussion, opinions and knowledge building,” said Majid Obaid bin Bashir, Chairman and Secretary General, EMAC.

The next Breakfast with EMAC seminar will take place on October 20th and will be co-hosted with Clyde&Co.
