DNV GL Maritime Advisory recently announced the formal appointment of Capt. Stephen Bligh and Per Pedersen as Special Advisors. According to a statement, “The addition of the two highly qualified and experienced members to the team will enable the Middle East office to keep up with the growing demand for decision support at every level, from overall strategy to operational performance.” Both men have more than 50 years of experience in shipping and other areas of the maritime sector.
DNV GL’s Maritime Advisory business has grown strongly in the Middle East over the past decade, supporting the maritime industry with strategic market and feasibility studies, while also assisting clients to achieve industry best practice standards through benchmarking with a focus on safety, sustainability and efficiency.
A particular focus of the unit in recent years has been on the development of the maritime cluster in the Middle East, where DNV GL has supported government authorities in achieving global recognition as one of the leading maritime cities. In addition, the bi-annual report “The leading maritime capitals of the world”, produced by DNV GL has helped to spotlight both the regional and the global contribution of the world’s most important maritime cities.
