Container throughput at India’s JN Port continues to rise. In April the gateway port handled an all-time record 416,436 teu, surpassing the previous highest, 399,419 tee set in March 2014.
The port authority-controlled JN Port Container Terminal (JNPCT) also achieved a record high, of 139,954 teu, just above the previous best of 136,408 teu set last November. Year-on-year, JNPCT traffic is up by over 6%, while throughput for the port as a whole rose by 12.6% over the past 12 months.
For the financial year ending March 2017, JNPT achieved an all-time high 4.5 million teu container traffic volume, while JNPCT set a new record of 1.53 million teu.
